as you all know by looking in my gallery, i do a lot of work based on gay/lesbian/transgender themes. this is something that interests me, and will continue to. in fact my next semester im taking an independant study based entirely in alternative sexuality/genderqueer/queer themes, so you will continue to see this from me in the future.
i don't expect any of you to be just as interested in these themes as i am. and that's fine.
if you don't like the subjects i'm drawing, or are offended by them, please feel free to REFRAIN from commenting if it means you're going to say something rude.
while i love all the comments i get, it's not NECESSARY to comment on something that is not relevant to the work im posting, and its not necessary to be offensive, especially when the work itself does not call for it.

i think i'm pretty lucky i haven't gotten very much insensitivity as far as this goes, and by posting this journal i don't expect it to stop, but i think i'm getting a lot of people who don't REALIZE they're being insensitive with their comments. on some level i think it's something that can easily be done if you don't understand the topic you're talking about. but at the same time, if you just stop and think for a moment what you're saying it's easy to realize.
for example, if there was an image of a caucasian woman and an african american man together, anyone can recognize that it would be utterly offensive to say that it should be two caucasian people, or two african americans together, because a caucasian person and an african american person together is 'unnatural'.
This kind of comment is just as biased, and just as unnecessary as commenting on the fact that you don't agree with the subjects' being gay/lesbian/queer.

While i agree everyone should have their own opinion, we need to realize that these opinions can be what is considered offensive to others, and when commenting on my work it's not necessary to express this if it means hurting someone's feelings unnecessarily. i'm not doing the work to get a rise out of others, if i post a piece that has that purpose then i will gladly accept comments like these because the piece is asking for them. however, all the work i have posted so far has only been expressing my interest in expressing loving emotions, or expressing interest in the differences between people.

So, when commenting on my queer themed art work, any of my work really, please consider what you are saying before you say it. Though i think most of you have been very nice and accepting so far =3

but really, i'm not doing anything to purposefully offend anyone, so please don't offend in return.
