For you TL;DR people I AM MOVING FROM SHLEY77 TO HERE:
I've had this username for seven years, almost eight now, isn't that crazy? It's crazy to think about for me. I've built up a lot here, and even though people say 'IT'S JUST DEVIANTART', because I've been here so long I've been hesitant to move. As soon as I started really making art I came here, it's like a giant history book of everything I've done as an artist. I think most people find that appalling to look back at, but I don't want to lose it, maybe I'm just a masochist.
For the majority of the years I've been here I was trying to figure a lot of things out about myself, as I'm sure most people do! It's never been easy for me to understand myself. I'm not really sure why, but I'm pretty dense about those things, kind of funny actually. For whatever reason I often explore things in my artwork long before I realize they're a reflection of me. For that reason I feel like what I'm about to say probably won't come as a surprise to those of you who really follow my work and are familiar with it's themes.
So why the change then and what even is this so called change and what does this have to do with anything?
Simply put, I have started taking the steps towards, and hopefully will soon start, gender reassignment.
Okay that's not simple.
There's a lot of details into that, and while I feel deviantart to be my cyber art home, I won't go into it.
So to put it lightly, I'm a boy.
I know most of you know me as female (or you just didn't know), and I was born and raised as such, but I've always been a guy, I just didn't get it till now.
I told you I was dense.
The name Ashley, though technically considered male AND female which I think is kinda cool, I can't bring myself to accept and keep.
The new name is Asher.
That being said, since I have effectively dropped the part of my name this username utilizes, it seems kind of stupid to keep it. And also makes me want to stab things. Stabbing things isn't good.
So there you have it. I am officially shoving off and moving slowly but surely to *doomburg
